Can’t have Movies vs. Humans without Humans.

For more information about our upcoming first show, featuring the film Street Wars, check out the post below.

So now that Movies vs. Humans has the beginnings of a website, let’s rap. Part of what we’re hoping to create with this show is a community of bad movie enthusiasts.

You see, at least once or twice a month, Matt and I will get together to enjoy one of these terrible films, either old favorites from our collections, or new acquisitions. We have some beers and giggle our brains out and try to solve the mysteries of how these films get made.

Just think about how many people are involved in making any kind of film. And think about how many meetings of various kinds it takes to get the millions of dollars in financing, and how many people have to say “yes” before production gets rolling. Think about how many films are killed in preproduction because just one of these people said a “no” instead of a “yes.”

And yet these movies exist. And at least to Matt and I, they’re more enjoyable than a lot of movies that are actually good. We enjoy watching them, and when we get to show them to friends, we enjoy watching our friends watch them.

We created Movies vs. Humans because let’s face it, Matt and I are going to be having these bad movie nights no matter what, and because our apartments are small, it might as well be at a cool bar where we have room to invite you all over.

And if this is going to be a community, it ought to be a two-way street. So drop us a line at moviesvshumans@gmail.com, especially if you have ideas for movies you’d like us to see at a Movies vs. Humans show!
